Download: Tear sheet – reminders when overwhelmed

This tear sheet includes nine reminders for when overwhelm starts to build.

We all feel overwhelmed sometimes. It’s really tricky to pull ourselves out of an overwhelmed state but reminders can help. We might like to pop this sheet on our wall, perhaps in a place that can cause overwhelm (like above our desk). Alternatively, we could cut out the reminders and put them in places we see all the time. Maybe our diary or the back of our phone case.

We could also use this tear sheet to support others. If we’re able to (without upsetting a caretaker or cleaner!) we could pop it up at school or work, for others to see if they feel overwhelm building. The back of a toilet door can be a great place, as often people head to the bathroom when things get a bit much!

What do people say about our work?

“Thankyou so much blurt team x
Depression is hard to work through and talking about it is so difficult as people do say things that make you feel stupid or worthless so in the end you don’t tell anyone how you really feel, you put on a mask
You and your words and encouragement feels like you really understand
I thank my lucky stars for people like you”

“Well that made my day. Anyone with a mental health condition, I can’t encourage you enough to sign up to these emails: they’re only once a week, so it’s not overwhelming. They’re sweet like this one and full of incredibly practical tips that for once really help! @BlurtAlerts”

“I just wanted to thank you and your team for my weekly check in emails. I have struggled a lot recently with family and relationship issues and your bulletins have really spoken to me. In times when I think I can’t take any more the words I read mean I can and I will. So know that you have made a difference to one person although I know you will have helped many.
Thanks again.”
