‘The Self-Care Project’ Has Finally Flown The Nest

We can barely believe it but we’ve seen lots of photographs of our book ‘The Self-Care Project‘ across social media, so it has to be true, it’s book publication time – yippee!

'The Self-Care Project' Has Finally Flown The Nest
[Thank you to Kathleen Brown for this wonderful drawing <3]

We’ve been talking about self-care until the cows came home; mainly because it’s a concept which has helped us to be mindful of how we feel, the decisions we make, and the things we do. But also because ‘self-care’ is a term that is bandied about as being a fad and it’s truly not. Not at all. Self-care helps us to manage our health, in a kind and personal way. And that’s a very good thing.

The first conversation we had about what would become The Self-Care Project was 29th July 2016 and oh boy, it’s been a right ol’ mish-mash of excitement, grit, nerves, a gazillion decisions, tough times, self-doubt, excitement, and some more excitement on top, for good measure.

It feels a little surreal that our book is now teetering its way into the world.

Some nice things people have said about our book

“I have just started reading your book and I think it’s very well-written and easy to understand. It’s fun, not over informative.” – @anfirefly1

“Sleepless spot in the night so I began your book which arrived yesterday. So real, honest and warm, you comforted me hugely and made me feel less alone. You write beautifully. Thank you for what you do. You are just what the world needs.” – @emjanewood

“I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH ALREADY.” – @omalley.x

“Refreshing, heartfelt and humble. This book will be a game changer in promoting positive mental health.” – Sarah Turner, The Unmumsy Mum

“From someone who’s been there and got the T-shirt, these are precious, precious words on how you can emerge from the mental health abyss. So practical and so interesting – it might even be a lifesaver.” – Jeremy Vine

“This book tackles the enormously important subject of self-care with wit, insight and the warmth of personal experience.” – Poorna Bell

It’s over to you now; we have our fingers and toes crossed that you enjoy it, that it helps you, and that it’s a book you’ll return to whenever life has gone a bit skew-iff.

Where it can be found

We can’t quite believe that something we’ve written is available in book shops! So, there are options: it’s available as part of our The Self-Care Sanctuary BuddyBox, on Amazon, in Waterstones, and in our shop.

A really important thank you

To YOU. It’s been a difficult year for Blurt in many ways, thank you for being you and for all your encouragement, kindness and courage, it’s helped us more than you can possibly imagine and gotten us through some uncertain times. We’re pleased to be ending 2017 on an exciting note, and to turn our focus onto some amazing projects in 2018.
